Mountain Lentils
Mountain lentils are descended from the papilionaceous family and belong to the legume family. The lentil is a herbaceous plant with small white flowers and originally comes from Asia Minor. Mountain lentils thrive in mountainous regions between 700 and 1,500 metres above sea level. Mountain lentils are red-brown and taste mildly aromatic. Lentils contain some hard-to-digest ingredients that are destroyed by cooking.
