St. John's wort
Even the ancient Romans raved about the properties of St. John's wort. St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) is also known by names such as common St. John's wort, perforated St. John's wort or spotted St. John's wort. St. John's wort was named after John the Baptist. Around St. John's Day (24 June), the herbaceous plant has its flowering season. St. John's wort was even voted medicinal plant of the year in 2015. The native herb with the striking yellow flowers is found in Europe and parts of Asia and Africa.
