Linden Tree
The lime tree (Tilia) is a deciduous tree native to Europe that can live up to 1000 years. It belongs to the subfamily of the linden family (Tilioideae) within the mallow family (Malvaceae). The white-yellow flowers are rich in essential oils, mucilages, glycosides and plant acids. The lime blossoms are excellent for making tea. Linden trees are very popular with beekeepers because the bees can produce a considerable amount of honey from the nectar of the linden blossoms.
