Peppermint
Peppermint is native to Europe and is, as the name suggests, a genus of mint. It is probably an accidental cross between brook mint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata).
The use of peppermint is extremely versatile. Many recipes and desserts use the aromatic peppermint leaves as a spice herb. But peppermint is also popular as a drink in many countries. In 2004, it was named medicinal plant of the year.
