Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), or Indian asparagus, is a root. It is one of the most well-known plants in Ayurvedic teachings. Translated, Shatavari means "she who has 100 husbands". Other names of the Indian asparagus are Shatavar, Shatawari or Shatamull. The plant is a thorny bush with small and needle-shaped leaves.
