Lemon verbena (Aloysia citrodora), also called lemon-scented shrub or fragrant verbena, is a plant species from the verbena family. Fresh and fragrant tea that is also very tasty to mix with other herbs. Its fragrance is reminiscent of lemon. The essential oils have a much higher intensity than in most other lemon-scented plants. Even lightly rubbing its leaves produces a strong smell of citrus aromas. Lemon verbena originally comes from subtropical regions of South America, such as Chile, and was brought to Europe at the end of the 18th century.
